Pat Roach

plays Petty Office Evans

Birmingham tough-guy actor Pat Roach, 6ft 5ins, is familiar to cinema and television audiences for his roles in the Sean Connery Bond film 'Never Say Never Again' and the television comedy series 'Auf Wiedersehen, Pet'.

In his teens Pat boxed as an amateur, later becoming a judo black belt and teacher, then a wrestler. He began his film career in 'A Clockwork Orange' and 'Barry Lyndon' under the auspices of Stanley Kubrick who introduced him around Hollywood. He proved a natural for David Carradine's Kung Fu series before becoming the archetypal heavy in a series of blockbusters thath includes 'Flash Gordon', 'Clash of the Titans', 'Superman III', 'Raiders of the Lost Ark', and, most recently, 'Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom', and 'Conan the Destroyer'. On television he appeared in 'Hazel', 'Gangsters', and 'Juliet Bravo', before 'Auf Wiedersehen, Pet' gave him a welcome switch to comedy. When he's not filming, Roach runs a Health Centre in Birmingham's New Street.
